How can I update PTR/RDNS Record?

PTR Records can be set for the following products:

  • vServer / VPS
  • Dedicated servers
  • GRE tunnel / FlexIPs
  • Squid Proxy / Http proxy
  • Premium VPN
  • IP lease / ip ranges

There are two ways to open the PTR-Manager. The first way is directly open it from our navigation:

Or you open it inside a vps-service / dedicated server. If you want to set a ptr record for a proxy, gre or ip-range please directly open the ptr manager explained above.

After you’ve opened the ptr-manager you find a list with your leased ips.

Now in this example we want to set a ptr record for 5.230.44.24. First lets check the current state of the entry:

As we can see on PTR Record Lookup - Check Reverse DNS (PTR) records for any domain there is indeed no entry for this ip.

Now we change the entry to „ptrtest.noez.de“ for this ip. So we enter it in the ptr-manager and click on submit:

Now we re-check the ip at PTR Record Lookup - Check Reverse DNS (PTR) records for any domain

As you can see the record has been applied now without waiting time. In that case we use google servers to check for updates. Other servers may take some more time.
