When renting a virtual Windows Server from our service, it comes standardly with an evaluation license valid for a period of 180 days, which can be utilized during the initial setup of the system. Upon expiration of this trial period, it is necessary to purchase and activate a regular Windows license.
Once the 180-day trial phase concludes, the Windows Server will automatically shut down every hour. Should this timeframe prove insufficient, there is an option to reset the server’s trial period up to five times.
To do this, please open the Windows Console as an Administrator and enter the following command:
slmgr.vbs /rearm
Executing this command will reset the elapsed time of the trial license. After executing the command, a server restart is required.
This will render the server usable for an additional 180 days. However, it is important to note that failing to activate Windows, even if the system appears to be functioning flawlessly after the trial period, constitutes a violation of the licensing terms agreed upon with Microsoft.
